A) Big-Picture Edit
AKA developmental, structural or substantive editing, this kind of editing involves moving large chunks of text around and possibly cutting some sections as well. It addresses the structure of a book — how everything hangs together.

B) Paragraph-Level

So you've finished your book. Now what? After you have run your spell-check and grammar check, fixed point of view problems and filled any plot holes, checked for viewpoint consistency, set the proper pacing and checked any flashbacks, added your subplots and ticking clocks, removed authorial intrusions, deleted unnecessary backstory, trimmed excessive narration, toned down all your purple prose, corrected any mixed metaphors, added foreshadows and symbols and finalized...
